Catalonia is anautonomous community of Spain located on the northeastern part of the Iberian Peninsula. It is politically designated as a nationality by its Statute of Autonomy.

Catalonia covers about 32.000 km2. Its population is about 7.500.000 inhabitants. Barcelona is its capital and one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe.

Catalan and Spanish are the most spoken languages in Catalonia.

Catalonia has a Mediterranean climate and a wide geographical diversity.

Catalonia is a land rich in scenery and heritage, from the Pyrenees Mountains to the Mediterranean Sea.

Because of this, and among many other reasons, Catalonia is a land and a country with a strong tourism attraction.
