Eric va néixer el 24 maig 1992 a Irvine , Califòrnia , USA , i molt poc després la família es va traslladar a Calgary , Canadà , on ha viscut tola la seva vida fins fa molt poc . Va aprendre a jugar al club d'escacs de l'escola, i va començar a competir al voltant dels 8 anys d'edat . El 2012 va prendre la decisió d'aparcar els seus estudis a la Universitat , per dedicar-se completament a escacs, i per aquesta mateixa raó , i per estar més a prop dels tornejos forts , fa poc s'ha mudat a València , Espanya , on podrà desenvolupar la seva pla de convertir un jugador d'elit .

Eric was born May 24, 1992 in Irvine, California, USA but shortly thereafter moved to Calgary, Canada and has lived there his whole life. Learned the rules from the chess club in his elementary school and started playing around the age of 8. He stopped university studies in 2012 to pursue chess and recently moved to Valencia, Spain to be near strong tournaments so that he can pursue his goal of becoming an elite player.

Csaba Balogh, born in 1987

Balogh earned his IM title in 2002 and in 2004 he was recognized as a Grandmaster. He won the U-16 section of the 2003 European Youth Chess Championship. Balogh was also a member of the national team that won both the U-16 World Team Championship 2003 and the U-18 European Team Championship in 2003. In 2006 he finished 2nd in the Hungarian Chess Championship. In 2011 he tied for 2nd-5th with Parimarjan Negi, Murtas Kazhgaleyev and Jon Ludvig Hammer in the 13th Dubai Open Chess Championship.
The game Balogh describes as one of his "most memorable", is a win over Viktor Korchnoi, at the 5th Gyorgy Marx Memorial (2007)
