XIX Catalan Grand Prix of International Open Chess

PRESENTATION

After three difficult years due to the pandemic, with the mandatory cancellation of the Catalan Circuit in 2020, the holding of few tournaments in 2021 and the almost normality of 2022, the Catalan Chess Federation wants to continue with strength the Catalan Chess Circuit and with this new XIX edition this year 2023 return to the pre-pandemic numbers.

The 2023 edition will begin in April and run through September. The new Catalan Circuit will have a total of 30 confirmed tournaments, which are divided into 12 classic format and 18 active format.

The “Circuit Català 2023” will continue to enjoy the sponsorship of the Catalan Sports Council (Generalitat de Catalunya), and will award prizes for the classification of the Catalan Circuit, both the general and the sections and the selectable Catalan players.
